Dimitre Dinev
"Dimitré Dinev, born 1968 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, is a writer, theater and screenwriter of German language. He graduated in 1987 from Bertolt Brecht High School in Pazardzhik. In 1990 he fled across the "Green Border" to Austria, where he spent the next few years on odd jobs and studied philosophy and Russian philology in Vienna. Dimitré Dinev is married and lives as a freelance writer in Vienna. In 2003 he obtained Austrian citizenship. Since 1991 he has been writing screenplays, short stories, plays and essays in German. His literary breakthrough came in 2003 with his family novel "Engelszungen", which was received with great interest throughout Europe. Works by Dimitré Dinev have since been translated into fifteen languages. In 2016, he and fifteen other authors were selected by an expert jury for the publication kunstArt AUSTRIA, a literary program of the Ministry of Culture section of the Foreign Ministry, which aims to contribute to Austria's foreign cultural policy so that today's Austria in the world is also a country is perceived with much remarkable literary output."(Sebastian Kurz, Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs.)
