Irene Brickner
Irene Brickner, born on June 25th, 1960, is an Austrian journalist and author. Brickner studied political science and sociology, but left the University of Vienna without a degree. She worked among others at the daily Neue AZ, at the NÖN and ORF. For the magazines Profil and Falter she worked as a freelancer. Since 2000, Brickner has been editor and commentator in the Chronicle Department of Der Standard. She comments on human rights issues and treated in her reports mainly asylum and foreigner law issues, gender equality policy and environmental issues with great competence and empathy. In 2018 she was a podium guest at the Krimml Friedensdialog.
