My Testimonial for Tree 43
A word about my honor in the Grove of Flight: I have now been working as an ARD foreign correspondent for 20 years. One of the stories that touched me most is the one about the escape of the "Krimml Jews" and my meeting with the survivors and their relatives in Israel as well as with Marko Feingold in Salzburg. I was particularly impressed by the commitment of Ernst Löschner and the employees of Alpine Peace Crossing, who keep the memory of the past alive - always with a view to the present and the future. The topic of flight and displacement and dealing with it is one of the most important and sensitive at the moment. The "Grove of the Flight" is a wonderful idea for me, for which I am thankful from the heart. - Also in the knowledge that my honor there is not mine, but the brave people that I have portrayed in my reports and whose memory is to live in it.
