Romy Seidl

The editor with a focus on social affairs, education, religion and politics has been based at the Salzburg State Studio since 1991. She is also responsible for the ORF aid campaign "Licht ins Dunkel". Romy Seidl has been able to look back on a broad and exciting working life since she was young. Already at the beginning of her studies of history and political science at the University of Vienna, she started her ORF career as a freelancer for four months a year at the Landesstudio Salzburg. Since 2004 she has been working as an employed editor for television and radio. In between, she worked for one year for the Representation of the European Commission in Austria for press and public relations work and, in addition to her studies, for just under a year for the Pontifical World Youth Meeting in Paris. Social concerns and women's issues are a matter close to her heart. Romy Seidl is the founding president of the "Salzburger Medienfrauen" (Salzburg Media Women) and since her school days she has volunteered for Karlheinz Böhm's Ethiopia Aid "Menschen für Menschen" (People for People), now as deputy chairman of the supervisory board. Romy Seidl's sensitive reporting on Alpine Peace Crossing's peace hikes in memory of the Jewish Exodus over the Krimml Tauern mountains distinguishes her as an empathic and expert journalist.
