Claus Raidl
Claus Josef Raidl (born November 6, 1942 in Kapfenberg, Styria) is an Austrian manager. From 1 September 2008 to 31 August 2018 he was President of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank. In 1970 he began his career as an assistant at the Institute for Applied Social and Economic Research. After further positions at banks and insurance companies, Claus Raidl became a member of the board of directors of ÖIAG in 1982. This was followed by management positions at VOEST-Alpine and Austrian Industries. From 1991 to 2010 Raidl was CEO of Böhler-Uddeholm AG. Since 2012 Claus Raidl is Vice President of the European Forum Alpbach. Raidl is a member of both the Catholic Austrian fraternity Norika to Waidhofen / Ybbs in the MKV and the Catholic Academic Association Bajuvaria Vienna Cartell Association ÖCV and was several times as the Minister of Economics for the ÖVP in conversation. Raidl published contributions in collected works and economics articles on questions of the economic order, the industrial policy, to the problems of the tax and budget policy and to the chances of the business location Austria. 2013 and 2015: Golden Medal of the Province of Styria and the Republic of Austria.
