Jörg Rodewald
Colonel Jörg Rodewald is Commander of the Mountain Battle Center in Saalfelden (Wallner barracks). He was born on Nov. 30th, 1962 in Unna (Germany). Rodewald graduated from the Theresian Military Academy in Wr. Neustadt. From 1998-2002 he was a teacher and chief instructor at the Army Officers 'Academy in Enns and commander of an armored hunters' company at KFOR, which led him abroad. From 2002 he was head of department for international training in the former command of the land forces in Wals. In 2005 he graduated as Master of Security and Defense Management at the National Defense Academy. Colonel Rodewald deals with Austrian contemporary history and the history of his homeland, and thus with the Krimmler Judenflucht. Jörg Rodewald generously supports the goals and activities of Alpine Peace Crossing every year according to his possibilities. He welcomes witnesses and their descendants on the grounds and in the dining room of the Wallner Kaserne, where once the DP camp Givat Avoda stood.
