Testimonial von Ernst Löschner für Hans Dieter Nerbl

For nine years (2008 to 2016) Hans Nerbl was my closest confidant and also Deputy Chairman of the Board of Alpine Peace Crossing. There was no strategic decision without coordination with him, he was the lead organizer of the Krimml Peace Dialogues and the APC Peace Hikes.
He was chiefly responsible for APC's first large-scale project in 2016, "Musik verbindet", on the occasion of the celebrations for 200 years of Salzburg. In 13 public events, refugees made music with local folk musicians in Pinzgau and Flachgau, as well as in the city of Salzburg. Hans also organized 18 drumming workshops by West African musicians with children and grown-ups in schools. All events were received enthusiastically by the audience and the media.
Another great success was the first student exchange between the HTL Saalfelden and a school in Israel with joint participation in the APC events in Krimml 2013.

Hans was always active for contemporary witnesses from Israel. In particular, I would like to highlight his concern with Tova Zehavi accompanied on the Krimml Tauern, as she wanted to go in old age again the way that had been fatal for her as a child.

As of 2016, Hans remained a member of APC, and plays an important role as organizer and actor (together with his wife Céline) on the play "Eretz Austria. Closed Borders - Dangerous Flight ", written and directed by Andreas Kosek about the flight of Jews in 1947. Since 2017, this interactive theater at original locations along the former escape route has been a fixed feature of APC, which is offered on several days around the APC Peace Hike.
Appreciating the lasting merits of Hans Nerbl for APC is both a pleasure and a concern for me. So I like to be one of the founders of Tree # 22 dedicated to him personally.
