I got to know Hans in connection with the emergence of the "Grove of Flight" in Krimmler Achental. Without him, the rowan trees and moor birches would not have been planted, contrary to the grayalder given in the first notification of the Hohe Tauern National Park. His knowledge of the chances of survival of native trees in the mountains at 1700m above sea level and his power of persuasion has made it possible that the grove in the plantation as he is now, was possible.
Hans guided me safely through the project in his sensitive and respectful way. He did not take the work out of my hand, he put a lot of trust into my hands.
The realization of the "Grove of Flight" will permanently bind us together.
